CLINICAL INTERESTS: Dr. Yerem Yeghiazarians is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in managing patients with coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, patent foramen ovale, and peripheral arterial diseases. Yeghiazarians earned an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

He trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he served as chief medical resident and instructor in medicine. He also completed general and interventional adult cardiology training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has been at UCSF since 2003.

RESEARCH INTERESTS: Dr. Yeghiazarians is the Director of the Translational Cardiac Stem Cell Program at UCSF. His research interests are to study the role of stem cells in improving the cardiac function after a myocardial infarction.
