I seek to incorporate lived experiences and community perspectives in the understanding of research ethics, the reduction of stigma, and the creation of effective and sustainable change for communities facing structural barriers which perpetuate unmet needs in STI, HIV, and HCV prevention, testing and treatment. For my ethics work, I serve on the ACOG Committee on Ethics. My current research focus is to address stigmatizing patient-provider communications that are barriers to PrEP access.

I have published and led national workshops on the delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered obstetric and gynecologic care. I am a prior recipient of the US Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Award, served on the NICHD Pregnant Women and Lactating Women Implementation Working Group (PRGLAC) at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and I was awarded Pittsburgh Magazine's 40 under 40 award in 2022 for my work including serving on the board of my local safe syringe program, Prevention Point.

In my clinical practice, I care for people with cervical dysplasia, gynecologic and obstetric care for people with HIV, HCV and other infectious diseases, and obstetric care for people who use substances. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, medical school at Michigan State University, and Ob-Gyn residency and Reproductive Infectious Disease fellowship at University of Pittsburgh-Magee Womens Hospital. After fellowship I practiced at Allegheny Health Network where I was the Director of Reproductive Infectious Disease and Co-Director of the Perinatal Hope Program (perinatal addiction medicine) and an Assistant Professor at Drexel University. I joined the UCSF Department of OB/Gyn and Reproductive Sciences in June 2024.
