Waqas Aslam, MD, is fellowship trained in interventional pulmonology, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine. He is also board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Aslam completed internal medicine residency and chief residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Aslam joined Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Texas A&M Health Science Center in Temple, TX, as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine. He then completed a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Aslam then furthered his training by completing additional fellowship training in interventional pulmonology at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, MA.

Dr. Aslam is an active member of the medical community and well published. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics relating to pulmonology, medical education and technology, patient care improvement, and quality improvement.

If you asked Dr. Aslam why he went into pulmonary and critical care medicine, he would say it is because he wanted to help patients with complicated lung disease and critical illness. He completed additional fellowship training in interventional pulmonology to learn advanced bronchoscopic interventions and minimally invasive techniques required to manage complex thoracic diseases, including lung cancer and pleural disease.

When Dr. Aslam is not conducting research, teaching residents, or caring for patients, he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Aslam is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
