In 2009, Dr. Kumar completed one year of his Diagnostic Radiology residency program at Harbor­-UCLA in Torrance, California. In 2012, he finished the remainder of his Diagnostic Radiology residency at UCSF, followed by a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at UCSF, completed in 2013.

Dr. Kumar joins the faculty of UCSF with a commitment to delivering the highest level of clinical excellence, professionalism and patient safety. His research interests include educating medical students about the field of interventional radiology, implementing emerging technologies to assess and improve patient outcomes, and comparative effectiveness/cost efficiency.
