As a Cardiology fellow he was the recipient of the Heart Failure Society of America's Research Fellowship award. After completing his training in general cardiology, Dr. Selby remained at UCSF for a fellowship in advanced heart failure and heart transplant cardiology. He joined the UCSF Cardiology faculty in 2014. CLINICAL INTERESTS: Dr. Selby’s clinical interests are in the evaluation and management of patients with advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. This includes patients requiring heart transplantation and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). He has a particular interest in the treatment of patients with heart failure due to cardiac amyloidosis and works closely with hematology and oncology experts to provide them with integrated, individualized care. RESEARCH INTERESTS: Dr. Selby is interested in clinical research related to the care of patients with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Particular areas of interest include hemodynamic assessment of patients with advanced heart failure and treatment strategies for cardiac amyloidosis. He is also involved in multiple clinical trials of novel therapies for heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
