Dr. Tommaso Pollini, M.D. is a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of California, San

Francisco (UCSF) in the Maker Lab, specializing in pancreatic cystic neoplasms with a focus on Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms (IPMN). He completed his surgical training at the Pancreas Institute of the University of Verona, Italy, where he developed a solid foundation in pancreatic diseases. Recognized for his contributions to the field, Dr. Pollini received the prestigious Kenneth Warren Fellowship from the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the Steve Sotsky Award from the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. At UCSF, his research centers on developing predictive models for high-grade dysplasia in pancreatic cystic tumors using machine learning. Utilizing his expertise in bioinformatics, single- nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNAseq), and spatial transcriptomics, he studies the tumor immune microenvironment of pancreatic cancers. Dr. Pollini has published his work in leading journals such as JAMA Surgery, The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, and Gastroenterology, contributing significantly to advancements in pancreatic cancer research.
