Thomas Newman, MD, MPH
Professor
Epidemiology & Biostatistics
School of Medicine
Dr. Newman uses methods of epidemiology to do research on clinical problems in pediatrics, such as jaundice and infections in newborn babies, urinary tract infections and cholesterol screening. He has a long term interest in teaching clinical research methods and is coauthor of two textbooks: Designing Clinical Research (5th edition, with Warren Browner and others, 2022) and Evidence-Based Diagnosis (2nd edition, with Dr. Michael Kohn, 2020).
