Our UCSF site serves as one of the few centers of excellence for this condition in North America. Since diabetes camps have served as the reason for me pursue pediatric endocrinology, I have been part of the medical staff at summer diabetes camps since 2000. I also play a role in resident and fellow education, and serve as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship on the Oakland campus.
