Dr. Susan Wlodarczyk is a clinician-educator in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVA) and Professor of Medicine at UCSF. She graduated from the UCSF School of Medicine in 2011, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF, and served as Chief Resident from 2014–2015.

From 2016–2020, she served as an Assistant Course Director for Ground School, the foundational sciences course in the UCSF Bridges Curriculum, where she helped develop an integrated curriculum, design learner assessments, and improve course evaluation through evidence-based educational practices.

Dr. Wlodarczyk previously served as the Internal Medicine Residency Site Director for inpatient services at the SFVA, where she managed the inpatient ward and ICU rotations, mentored chief residents, led initiatives to improve the clinical learning environment, and helped expand the highly rated interprofessional inpatient teams. She now serves as an Associate Program Director for the UCSF Internal Medicine Residency, with a focus on curriculum, faculty development, and quality improvement. She was inducted into the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators in 2020. Her educational and scholarly interests include curriculum development, learner assessment, faculty development, and applying the learning sciences to the clinical workplace.

Dr. Wlodarczyk also directs the SFVA Medicine Consult Service, Surgical Co-Management Service, and Preoperative Medical Optimization Clinic. In these roles, she collaborates across disciplines to care for medically complex surgical patients and advance evidence-based, age-friendly perioperative care for older adults.
