Inspired by medical professionals in her family, she earned a Doctor of Medicine at Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria, received a Master of Public Health at Saint Louis University, and completed her residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Dr. Hammami has practiced internal medicine at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center and Hunter Health in Wichita, Kansas. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and has participated in numerous research projects.

Driven by her passion for improving population health, Dr. Hammami has a great interest in improving the quality of care for diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. When not devoting time to patients’ health, she likes hiking, exploring new places, and preparing different cuisines.
