Sujal Nanavati, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Interventional Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He supervises both scheduled and on-call interventional radiology procedures, conducts clinical rounds, provides consultation, oversees triage and admission, protocol and interprets CT and MR imaging studies and diagnostic x-rays.

He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 1996, and he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology from Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2002.
Dr. Nanavati serves as Officer of the Trauma QA Committee in the Department of Radiology at the San Francisco General Hospital. He also serves on the Dialysis Access Management Board at SFGH, and he is a Liver Tumor Board Representative in the Interventional Radiology Section at SFVAMC. As Officer of the Trauma QA committee, Dr. Nanavati works with a multi-specialty team to insure that they maintain the highest level of care for trauma patients. As a member of the Interventional Radiology Liver and Tumor Board, Dr. Nanavati and his colleagues work together to define the most effective and appropriate treatment recommendations for patients with hepatic neoplasms.
Dr. Nanavati is an active member of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Radiological Society of North America, and the California Radiological Society.
