She has created and leads a global online course, “Entrepreneurship for Life Science/Healthcare Startups: Master Class Direct from Silicon Valley” that attracts participants from four continents. She is a Senior Lecturer at UCSF and translates her business experience to the classroom in Silicon Valley and globally. She has been affiliated with entrepreneurship programs at the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford University’s Technology Ventures Program. She has taught and presented in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia including at the White House’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad and through US State Department’s International Speaker Program. During a 30 year business career, she has worked with over 1000 companies in science and technology based industries as member of the management team, business consultant, mentor or teacher. These companies derive their technological roots from UCSF, UC Berkeley, Stanford, MIT or Harvard. She has had roles as CEO, COO and VP Corporate Development for public and private venture capital-backed companies, led partnering and M&A transactions, headed corporate development, strategy, marketing, communications and investor relations. She performs grant reviews for the NSF and NIH and is National Faculty for I-Corps, NSF’s successful training program for science and technology entrepreneurs. Her UCSF course serves as the basis for the NIH’s curriculum. She has advised the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy and Domestic Policy Council on entrepreneurship initiatives. She served as Deputy Secretary of Economic Affairs in Massachusetts, where she developed business policy in deep technology sectors. She is on the Advisory Board of Health for the World, a medical education non-profit. Her views on entrepreneurship in emerging markets have been published in the Wall Street Journal, the Moscow News and AmericaEconomia. She has been interviewed by Russian television, the BBC and Argentine radio.
