Sohil R Sud, MD MA is Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He cares for newborns and hospitalized children at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital and Washington Hospital in Fremont, California.

He is a Past Chair of the Pediatrics Department at Washington Hospital and a director of the global health education efforts at UCSF. Dr. Sud is also a member of the UCSF Collaborative to Advise on Re-opening Education Safely (CARES), Faculty Affiliate of the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences, and affiliate of the Health, Equity, Action, and Leadership (HEAL) Fellowship.
Dr. Sud completed his clinical training at UCSF in the Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved (PLUS) program and served as Chief Resident at ZSFG. He earned his medical degree with research honors from Tufts University, where he received the Sydney Gellis Award in Pediatrics. Dr. Sud holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
Dr. Sud has served on the advisory boards of the American Academy of Pediatrics, California Chapter 1 and of Girls Health Champions. He has published peer-reviewed manuscripts and received additional training in clinical research at UCSF, in humanitarian affairs at Harvard University, and in tobacco control advocacy through the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also served as Senior Fellow at the Center for Policy Analysis on Trade & Health.
