Sarah Nathan is an associate clinical professor in the UCSF School of Nursing, Family Health Care Nursing Department. Since joining the faculty, she has combined her passion for teaching with her dedication to community clinic health care.

Her faculty practice is at La Clinica, a Federally Qualified Health Center in the Easy Bay, serving a low income and immigrant population. Her clinical practice site is the young adult and adolescent clinic that provides primary and prenatal care for adolescents and young adults and pediatric care for their children. She is passionate about young adult/adolescent health and sexual, reproductive health both in the United States and abroad. Connecting individualized care to larger structural and policy changes in health care is an important motivator of her work.

Her doctoral research focuses on how socio-contextual facotrs impact personal pregnacy desires and how these pregnancy preferences impact contraceptive use or non-use among youth.
