Dr. Sarah French is a rheumatologist who specializes in caring for patients with complex systemic rheumatic diseases, including lupus and scleroderma. She serves as co-director of the UCSF Scleroderma Clinic.

One focus of French's research is scleroderma's effects on the heart and lungs; another is improving care for patients with osteoporosis.

French earned her medical degree at UCSF. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and returned to UCSF to complete a fellowship in rheumatology, serving as chief fellow.
