Samia Ghaffar, M.D. earned her medical degree from University of California, Irvine. Her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery was completed at University of California, San Francisco, Fresno and she completed her fellowship in Spine Surgery at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington. She is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Her clinical interests include surgical treatment of the full range of spine conditions from the upper cervical spine to the sacrum. This includes spine trauma, tumors, infection, degenerative spine conditions such as Stenosis and Disc Pathology, and spine deformities such as Scoliosis, Kyphosis, and Spondylolisthesis.

Dr. Ghaffar has given presentations on spine-related topics both nationally and internationally, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, she has spoken at elementary and high schools with students interested in medical careers, and has volunteered her time for many organizations.

Dr. Ghaffar is a co-founder of UC Irvine's first student-run free clinic and serves as the undergraduate representative for Shifa Community Clinic in Sacramento, California. She is fluent in Urdu.
