While completing his medical degree at Boston Medical Center, he was drawn to caring for a patient population comprised primarily of immigrants and people experiencing homelessness. The systemic inequities his patients faced prompted him to pursue an MPH in Health Policy at Harvard School of Public Health, during which he worked with the Massachusetts Health Connector, the state health insurance marketplace agency, to expand insurance access for immigrants. He subsequently served as the Public Health Policy and Clinical Fellow for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Commissioner's Office, helping to address the e-cigarette/vaping-associated lung injury (EVALI) epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic. During residency at Bellevue Hospital, he piloted interventions to promote high-value care within NYC Health + Hospitals. Outside of medicine and public health, Dr. Rastogi enjoys biking, coffee, exploring the city, playing soccer, and hiking.
