Dr. Robert Baron, an internal medicine specialist and primary care doctor, serves as vice chief of the UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine. With a special interest in treating obesity, he is founder and director of the UCSF Weight Management Program. He is also interested in nutrition and preventive medicine.

Baron earned a master's degree in nutrition at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his medical degree from UCSF.

Baron has directed the UCSF Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program since 1989.
