Raymond Hsu, MD, MAS is an Associate Professor of medicine in the Division of Nephrology.

Within nephrology, he is the Director of the Glomerular Disease program at UCSF Health, with expertise in treating patients with (but not limited to): minimal change disease, FSGS, membranous nephropathy, IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, ANCA-mediated vasculitis, renal thrombotic micro-angiopathies, pregnancy-associated kidney diseases, and renal complications of cancer and cancer therapies (onco-nephrology). He is directly involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with glomerular and other forms of chronic and acute kidney diseases. He additionally maintains a panel of patients with end-stage kidney disease requiring chronic renal replacement therapy including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis.

Dr. Hsu's research has focused on the epidemiology and outcomes of acute kidney injury (AKI) using large administrative, clinical, and cohort datasets. He is also involved in coordination of several multi-center prospective observational studies to help elucidate the natural history of CKD and various glomerular disorders.

Dr. Hsu is active in the education of both trainees and practicing physicians, and lectures frequently at national and international conferences.
