Rachel Russell, MD, MS, MPH

Rachel is a general surgery preliminary intern at UCSF. Rachel grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and then moved to New Orleans where she received a bachelor’s and master’s in biomedical engineering at Tulane University. During her time there, she developed a passion for global health and founded a global health initiative working to bring engineering solutions to rural areas in Peru.

She then returned to Phoenix, AZ for medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix where she also completed an MPH and certificate of distinction in global health. Rachel is excited to be starting her surgical residency training here at UCSF.
