Dr. Pekka Talke is an anesthesiologist with more than 30 years of experience. He cared for patients in the operating rooms with a particular focus on neuroanesthesia (optimizing anesthesia during neurological surgeries). He served as chief of neuroanesthesia for 15 years.

For more than three decades, Talke has conducted research that focuses on noninvasive physiological monitoring (using devices outside the body to continuously assess a patient's status) and blood vessel function.

Talke earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he also completed a residency in anesthesiology. He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and has served on its board of directors.

Talke is a native of Finland.
