Olive Giovannetti is the Grants Manager for Proposals and Grants Team EF at UCSF, where they provide strategic leadership and oversight in support of faculty and research administration across the Department of Medicine, Osher Center, UCSF Fresno, and the VA.

With more than two decades of experience at UCSF, Olive brings deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to advancing research through effective, collaborative administration.

Olive began their UCSF career in 2003 as an HIV Test Counselor with the HIV Assessment and Prevention Services at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). In this role, they applied a multi-infection framework to deliver counseling, testing, and referral services to a diverse patient population. In 2004, they transitioned into administrative support for the Epidemiology (EPI) Center, where they developed a foundation in research operations.

In 2006, Olive became a Research Services Analyst for the Division of Experimental Medicine at ZSFG, providing both pre- and post-award support before specializing exclusively in pre-award administration in 2009. They joined Research Management Services (RMS) in 2012 as a Research Services Coordinator/Grants Specialist, further expanding their expertise in proposal development and grants management.

Olive advanced to Assistant Grants Manager for Team E in 2015, and in 2019 was appointed Interim Grants Manager for Teams E and F. They were formally named Grants Manager in April 2020. In their current role, Olive is known for thoughtful leadership, dedication to team development, and a passion for supporting faculty and advancing research initiatives. They are deeply committed to fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high-quality, responsive service to the research community.
