Nicole McHale, MD

Dr. McHale’s career has consistently centered on global health, beginning in college as a leader in Cornell’s GlobeMed chapter partnering with a community health center in Ecuador. She then served in the U.S. Peace Corps in rural Namibia, supporting village clinic operations and community health education.

Her commitment continued through medical training with community health work in rural India, a residency rotation in Tanzania, and participation in Cornell-funded research on echocardiography, heart failure, and HIV. She further deepened this work through a Global Health Fellowship with the Botswana Harvard Partnership and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She now brings this experience to UCSF as Associate Director of the GME Global Health Pathway, preparing trainees to advance equitable, sustainable global health partnerships and address health inequities locally and globally.
