Dr. Holder's research is focused on improving the quality and effectiveness of mental health treatment for Veterans with military-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Specific areas of interest include: (1) understanding trends in and improving access to evidence-based treatment for PTSD; (2) understanding variability in response to evidence-based psychotherapies for PTSD; (3) understanding the process of symptom change during evidence-based psychotherapies for PTSD; (4) improving acceptability of and retention in mental health treatment; and (5) understanding and treating clinical complexity associated with PTSD.
