Meredith Greene is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics at the University of California San Francisco. She is a board certified internist, geriatrician and American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist who is interested in improving healthcare for vulnerable older adults.

Dr. Greene is interested in the intersection of HIV and geriatric medicine and understanding how to improve care for older adults living with HIV infection. Specifically, her research has focused on functional impairment, multiple medication use and geriatric syndromes in older HIV-positive adults. She is a co-medical director for the website HIV-age.org a collaboration between the American Geriatrics Society, American Academy of HIV Medicine, and ACRIA. She is the associate director of the geriatric HIV consultation clinic at San Francisco General Hospital where she provides weekly geriatric consultations for patients living with HIV (part of the Golden Compass program). In addition, she provides geriatric consultation to the 360 and WHP HIV clinics on the Parnassus campus.

Dr. Greene received her MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed Residency in Internal Medicine-Primary Care at UCSF. She completed geriatrics fellowship at UCSF as well as a fellowship in HIV Research with Dr. Laurence Huang and provided HIV primary care at San Francisco General Hospital’s Positive Health Program (Ward 86).
