My role is dedicated to education. I teach pharmacology in various formats in courses for School of Medicine (SOM), School of Pharmacy (SOP) and school of Dentistry (SOD). I have designed and run Support Courses for USMLE Step 1 prep. I co-teach faculty development workshops on small group teaching, critical reflection and writing open ended exam questions at UCSF and at national and international meetings.

Holder of Pharmacology Academy Chair in Education (2021-2027). This chair supported my ability to collaborate with colleagues across the nation starting a pharmacology interest group (Phig) which resulted in publications on pharmacology education frameworks and best practices. Another area of interest is assessment and AI. As part of a multi-institutional study we investigated feasibility of implementing Open Ended Exam questions and grading by AI.
