Jaeger-Krause earned her medical degree at Heidelberg University in Germany. After the second year of a residency in pediatrics at University Hospital of Würzburg in Germany, she joined the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego as a postdoctoral research fellow. In Switzerland, she completed her residency as well as a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at University Children's Hospital Zürich.
