Marianne Biangone, PhD, RN, PHN, CNE, FAAN, is a Clinical Professor and Interim Associate Dean for Education Programs at the UCSF School of Nursing, where she provides executive leadership for academic programs, educational strategy and operations, curriculum and program quality, faculty development, learner support, and organizational transformation.

She also serves as Director of Workforce Development for UC Health, advancing academic-practice partnerships and strategies that connect nursing education with evolving health-system and workforce needs.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and Certified Nurse Educator, Biangone has more than three decades of leadership experience spanning academic nursing, academic health systems, public health, clinical operations, workforce development, and national nursing education.
Biangone’s scholarship and national leadership focus on nursing student persistence and success, professional identity, leadership development, and equitable pathways into and through nursing education. Her research examines resilience, grit, goal attainment, and psychological capital and translates these findings into practical approaches for students, faculty, and academic programs. She collaborates nationally and internationally on nursing education and workforce initiatives.
Her national engagement includes leadership with the International Society for Professional Identity in Nursing, as well as invited contributions to national conversations on nursing education, workforce development, and professional identity. She has presented her scholarship and educational work nationally and internationally, including at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and international nursing research conferences.
Biangone is an AACN–Wharton Executive Leadership Fellow and completed UCSF’s Executive Leadership for Academic Health Centers program. Across her academic, health-system, and professional leadership, she works to strengthen educational excellence, develop faculty and future nurse leaders, build effective academic-practice partnerships, and advance a diverse and resilient nursing workforce.
