Madina Tugizova, MD

Dr. Madina Tugizova is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. She is board-certified in neurology and neuromuscular medicine. She provides care to patients in the adult neuromuscular clinic, and she performs electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, and skin biopsies. She is co-director of UCSF's Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Care Center.

Her research background is in genetics and immunology. During medical school, she completed the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship. She has also received training in clinical research design at UCSF. Dr. Tugizova is an investigator on ongoing clinical trials for neuromuscular diseases.

Dr. Tugizova enjoys teaching medical students, neurology residents, and neuromuscular fellows. She received the Academy of Medical Educators Excellence in Teaching Award for UCSF Teaching Faculty in 2024.
