Dr. Lucas W. Thornblade, MD MPH is a Board Certified Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist who joined UCSF and the Alameda Health System at Highland Hospital in September 2021. He completed his training in General Surgery at the University of Washington and in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles.

He has expertise in gastrointestinal malignancies including colon, gastric, pancreas, and liver cancers, as well as melanoma and sarcoma. His research and career interests lie in measuring and addressing disparities in cancer care delivery among the underserved with a focus on advanced colorectal cancer.
