Dr. Lommel holds a doctorate in Nursing, a master’s degree in Public Health, and is certified as a Women’s Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has more than 25 years of experience as a direct service provider in a variety of clinical settings, as well as extensive teaching experience in women’s health and primary care.

As a women’s health specialist, Dr. Lommel has co-authored three books on obstetrics and women’s primary care for which she received several awards. She has also established a women’s health clinic at San Francisco State University, as well as developed an Adolescent Pregnancy Faculty Practice Program at the University of California, San Francisco. Her current research is focused on health outcomes in Chinese immigrants in the United States. Dr. Lommel is presently a clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing and presents locally, nationally, and internationally on women’s health and Chinese immigrant health.
