Lauren Sanchez, MD

Dr. Sanchez received her B.S and M.A in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at UCLA before attending medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She then completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

She was also a fellow at the Clinical Research Training Program at the NIH within the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), with focus on primary immunodeficiency.
Currently she is an Assistant Professor at UCSF. Her academic interests are in long-term outcomes in primary immunodeficiency, with focus on the transition of care of young adults with chronic illness due to primary immunodeficiency and immune dysregulatory disorders. She is also interested in the quality of life for patients with primary immunodeficiency and their families. Dr. Sanchez is also interested in the intersection of social determinants of health with allergy and immunology, and is working with others at UCSF Pediatric Allergy and Immunology to support initiatives to address issues such as food insecurity in food allergic patients.
Clinically, Dr. Sanchez attends on the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Mission Bay Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Consult service. She sees patients in the Pediatric Allergy Clinic, Pediatric Immunology Clinic, and the Primary Immune Regulatory Disorder (PIRD) Clinic. She also runs the Pediatric Primary Immunodeficiency Transition Clinic.
