"In my view, my most significant contribution to the care of patients in the FHC is in the consistency of challenging residents towards individualized professional development in their role as clinician, with emphasis on the dynamics of their communication with patients, staff and colleagues." One way she accomplishes those goals is in direct observation of residents in their clinical practice and in Family Care Unit sessions. As the inaugural Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Advocacy and Mentorship for the residency program she is deeply involved in work towards an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture both within the department and beyond in our work institutions. Dr. Day currently serves as the Medical Director of Operations and Residency Liaison for our Family Health Center practice. In this role she is centered on maintaining the balance of teaching and clinical care delivery while centering the patient in their care. Outside of work, Dr. Day is an avid 8-ball and 9-ball billiards player who serves currently as President of the Board of the San Francisco Tavern Pool League. Similarly she has a passion for genealogical research, having traced multiple family trees and as a volunteer has indexed thousands of birth, marriage and death records for FamilySearch to assist others in finding their ancestors.
