Oveyssi earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California, a fellowship in nephrology at the University of California, Los Angeles and a fellowship in transplant nephrology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
