In recent work, I have developed a technique to identify side effects of procedures in unstructured electronic health record data, described a vulnerability in the de-identification of electronic health records, and examined the benefits of and disparities in the use of MyChart messages in radiation oncology patients. Future work will involve the application of the abovementioned technique to understand side effects in a national cohort of prostate cancer patients and a deeper investigation into the benefits of MyChart messaging.
