Jenny Kwon, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar affiliated with the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Her research focuses on understanding and measuring multiple aspects of healthcare quality in the U.S., with a particular commitment to improving care quality and advancing inclusive, equitable services that enhance healthcare consumer experiences.

She employs mixed-methods approaches and has extensive experience working with large secondary datasets related to nursing homes. She is a strong advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and is dedicated to translating research findings into actionable insights for policy and practice. Prior to joining UCSF, Jenny completed her PhD in Social Gerontology at Miami University of Ohio where her dissertation examined how retention of nursing staff and individualized care practices affect nursing home consumers’ satisfaction. Before starting her doctoral studies, she earned a Master of Public Health from Indiana University – Bloomington and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Konkuk University in South Korea. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and playing pickleball.
