I work on policies to encourage best practices in the care of both active and latent TB, and provide consultation on patients with multi-drug resistant, complicated or difficult-to-treat tuberculosis disease. I am actively engaged in multiple collaborative training and research endeavors with our partners at UCSF, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the California Department of Public Health TB Control Branch, the Curry International Tuberculosis Center, and the National TB Controllers Association.

I also consult on infectious diseases at the San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital. My prior focus has included work in COVID-19, influenza and other emerging viral diseases of public health importance.
