His research interests span the areas of cariology and operative dentistry, but especially in nano-controlled molecular interaction at adhesive interfaces for hard tissue reconstruction. This research has also branched in the field of guided tissue remineralization and repair of caries-infected dentin and inherited dentin defects using the so-called "Polymer-Induced Liquid Precursor" approach. Currently, He is working on a translation of this proof-of-concept biomimetic remineralization strategy into a clinically delivery system (“patent applied for”).

Dr. Nurrohman holds D.D.S and Ph.D. In addition, His postdoctoral research has been funded by NIH/NIDCR. He was a lecturer and teaches Cariology and Operative Dentistry to both pre-clinical and clinical dental students. His teaching experiences address the principles of integrating critical thinking and evidence-based dentistry (EBD) content into an established dental curriculum: a model for independent learning.
