The overarching goal of my research is to examine the impacts of social and economic policies on health disparities across the life course and to inform effective policy implementation. My work focuses on understanding how large-scale policies, particularly those related to poverty, food/nutrition, and education, affect health outcomes among economically disadvantaged and racial/ethnic minority populations.

Much of my recent work has focused on income support policies such as the Child Tax Credit (CTC), the Universal Free School Meals (UFSM), the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). A key strength of my work is my expertise in advanced econometric methods and quasi-experimental research designs. I specialize in leveraging quasi-random variations in policy implementation across time, geography, and eligibility to draw causal inferences. My recent first-authored methodological paper in Epidemiology offers guidance on generating heterogeneous-robust DiD estimators, which are increasingly adopted in the field. I also work extensively with large survey and administrative datasets, including national birth certificate data, National Health Interview Survey, and Panel Study of Income Dynamics. This methodological expertise has led to numerous publications in high-impact journals such as American Journal of Epidemiology, Epidemiology, Pediatrics, Health Economics, and Social Science & Medicine.
