Dr. Gopal Lalchandani is an orthopedic surgeon who cares for patients of all ages with upper extremity (from the elbow to the fingertip) injuries and conditions. He specializes in acute upper limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction of complex injuries.

He also cares for a variety of other conditions affecting the upper extremities, including sports-related injuries, arthritis, carpal tunnel, tendon lacerations and ligament injuries. He also treats pediatric congenital hand disorders and complex elbow injuries.

Lalchandani's research focuses on wide-awake hand surgery (surgery with local anesthesia), distal radius fractures (broken wrists) and outcomes after upper extremity surgery.

Lalchandani earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery UCSF, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Lalchandani grew up in Sacramento, California. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, skiing and spending time with his family.
