CLINICAL INTERESTS: Elyse Foster is a cardiologist with special interests in Non-Invasive Cardiology, in particular, Echocardiography, Congenital Heart Disease in the Adult Population and Valvular Heart Disease.

Her clinical interests include the use of transthoracic, stress, transesophageal and three-dimensional echocardiography and the diagnosis and management of valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, pericardial disease and congenital heart disease. Additionally her interests include the management of heart disease in pregnancy.

RESEARCH INTERESTS: Elyse Foster runs a core echocardiography laboratory for interpretation of echocardiograms evaluating novel cardiac therapies for the treatment of heart failure and valvular heart disease. These include cardiac resynchronization therapy with biventricular pacing and percutaneous treatment of mitral regurgitation. Additional research interests include the study of clinical applications of echocardiography, the natural history of congenital heart disease and mechanisms of valvular dysfunction
