Elliott Welford is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases with specific interest and expertise in HIV. He received his MD from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed residency training at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was also Chief Resident.

He completed Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego before joining faculty at UCSF. He maintains an HIV primary care clinic at UCSF 360 Wellness Center and is a consultant on the inpatient infectious diseases services at Parnassus, Mission Bay and Mount Zion. His academic interests include diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections as well as undergraduate and graduate medical education.
