Dr. Dawn Gano is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics, and the Clinical Director of the UCSF Fetal Neurology Center of Excellence. She is a pediatric neurologist that specializes in fetal and neonatal neurology. Her research focuses on the causes and consequences of injury to the developing brain in utero, and after birth, with an emphasis on the identification of potentially modifiable risk factors.

Gano studied medicine at McMaster University, and completed pediatric neurology residency at the University of British Columbia. She obtained fellowship training in neonatal neurology, and a masters in clinical research methods at UCSF.

She serves on the Editorial Board for Pediatric Research, and Pediatric Neurology. She is an elected member of the Society for Pediatric Research, as well as an active member of the Child Neurology Society and Newborn Brain Society.
