Dr. Campbell completed B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biological Sciences at Stanford University, and graduated with distinction from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Campbell has served as Program Director for the UCSF Fresno Psychiatry Residency Program since 1999. He is also the Medical Director of University Psychiatry Associates, the department’s faculty practice and residency training clinic, and teaches didactic seminars in psychopathology, psychotherapy, community psychiatry and cultural psychiatry.
Dr. Campbell is board certified in Psychiatry, a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Campbell has been recognized with the UCSF Kaiser Award for Excellence in Teaching, the American Psychiatric Association’s Nancy C.A. Roeske, M.D. Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education, the Haile T. Debas UCSF Academy of Medical Educators Citation for Excellence in Teaching, and the UCSF Department of Psychiatry George Sarlo Prize for Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Campbell spends as much time as possible at Huntington Lake in the Sierra National Forest, along with his wife Karen, his daughters Rebecca and Molly, and his cattle dog Scout.
