Dr. Cordano subsequently decided to focus his career on MS research, coupling his dual passions for neuro-ophthalmology and neuroimmunology. He joined Dr. Ari Green´s Lab at UCSF as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in August 2014, funded by a fellowship from FISM (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation).

His work is focused on visual electrophysiologic alteration in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis models, trying to characterize the course of electrophysiologic alterations and neuronal injury following demyelination. He completed his PhD in the Department of Experimental Medicine at the University of Genoa in April 2017, and will also complete a degree in Economics. Dr. Cordano grew up in Genoa. In his free time, he loves to travel, cheer on his soccer team (Genoa), and read comics and classics.
