Cathra Halabi, MD

Dr. Halabi is board certified in Neurology and in Vascular Neurology. She is the Neurorecovery Program Chief in the Department of Neurology's Neurovascular Division and the founding director of the UCSF Neurorecovery Clinic. She treats patients hospitalized with neurovascular emergencies such as ischemic stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage.

She also treats patients recovering from acquired neurologic injuries including stroke, concussion, and traumatic brain injury. Her research interests include identifying injury features that are predictive of recovery for improved study design and treatment target identification. She has received teaching awards from medical students and residents, including the Teaching Excellence Award for Cherished Housestaff and the Robert B. Layzer Golden Toe Award for Excellence in Neurology Resident Teaching.
