Dr. Caitlyn Painter is a urogynecologist and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon specializing in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. Her areas of expertise include pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, urinary and rectal fistulas, and congenital vaginal abnormalities.

As an osteopathic physician, she has a special interest in the complex interactions between pelvic floor disorders, pelvic pain, and musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Dr. Painter’s research focuses on the prevention and management of pelvic floor injuries associated with childbirth, with an emphasis on the long-term physical and psychological impacts of obstetric anal sphincter injuries.

She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University California’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Oakland and pursued a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery through a collaborative program between Kaiser Permanente East Bay and the University of California, San Francisco.
