I am also committed to helping to train, mentor, and inspire people from groups who are under-represented in medicine (Black/African American, Hispanic, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, Native Alaskan, Hawaiian, persons from low socioeconomic backgrounds of any race-ethnicity, and individuals with disabilities) to conduct high-quality neurological research and develop successful academic careers. I am Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA), the world’s leading open access journal by scientific impact with a combined cardiovascular and cerebrovascular remit.
