Brian Mohlenhoff, MD, is the Director of Pharmacotherapy for the posttraumatic stress disorder program at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He studied the history and sociology of medicine at the City University of New York, earned his M.D. at UCSF in 2009 and then stayed at UCSF for his residency in general adult psychiatry.

He completed a VA Advanced Fellowship in Mental Illness Research and Treatment, researching PTSD, sleep and cognition with Dr. Thomas Neylan and the Stress and Health Research Program and working in the neuroimaging lab of Dr. Michael Weiner. His clinical and research interests include PTSD, the use of dogs in the treatment of PTSD and the contribution of sleep problems to the symptoms and sequelae of PTSD.
