Dr. Long completed her medical degree at Tongji University School of Medicine in Shanghai, followed by a Master of Surgery at the Peking University Health Science Center. Her U.S. training includes a general surgery internship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and a 5-year general surgery residency at Central Michigan University. She went on to complete her Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York — a high-volume, high-acuity environment that refined her technical skills and expanded her research focus.

Dr. Long's research career began early in her surgical training and spans a broad range of vascular science. As a research scholar at Stanford University, she investigated microembolization and cognitive decline following carotid interventions. She then served as a research scholar at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, focusing on peripheral mycotic aneurysms and intraoperative neuromonitoring during carotid endarterectomy. During her general surgery residency at Central Michigan University, she conducted clinical studies on outpatient arterial endovascular interventions and further expanded her work in artificial intelligence applications in vascular surgery. Her subsequent fellowship work explored the use of large language models to support vascular decision-making and surgical education, an area in which she has produced nationally recognized contributions.

Dr. Long's work has been featured in Vascular Specialist and Vascular News, and she has delivered podium and plenary presentations at major national and regional meetings, including SVS VAM, the Eastern Vascular Society, and OEIS. She has received multiple competitive national awards, such as the American Venous Forum Foundation Scholarship, the Eastern Vascular Society Resident Travel Grant, and the Central Michigan University Scholarly Activity Support Fund.

Clinically, Dr. Long is devoted to the comprehensive management of vascular disease, with interests encompassing carotid and aortic pathology, peripheral arterial disease, venous disorders, and the incorporation of advanced computational tools to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Her international training and broad research experience inform a practice grounded in technical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Through her combined expertise in clinical vascular surgery, translational research, and emerging technologies, Dr. Long aims to help shape the future of the specialty and advance the science of vascular care.
